Back pain is already developing into the No. 1 widespread affliction. 80 percent of Central European adults suffer at least occasionally from such complaints.
Physicians diagnose muscle tension in 90 % of these cases. Through constant long periods of sitting, the abdominal muscles shorten and also the muscles of the back recede. With the upper body bent forward at a desk or computer, the back muscles are constantly tensed. A spontaneous movement, cold weather or stress can then trigger pain, lumbago, a strain or wryneck.
